Leading Dietary Supplement Trade Association Seeks Scientist for Full-time Position

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 22, 2013—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the dietary supplement industry’s leading trade association, is seeking to fill a recently vacated position in its Scientific and Regulatory Affairs department. This individual will join CRN’s highly respected science team to increase awareness of the evolving body of scientific literature that supports an appropriate role for dietary supplements as part of good health. In addition, he or she will rely on science as the basis for responding to emerging scientific and regulatory issues as well as advocating for science-based nutrition policy.

Interested candidates should hold a doctorate degree from a recognized institution in a relevant discipline with a minimum of five years experience in some combination of an industry, academic or government setting. He or she should be familiar with current federal regulation of dietary supplements. Previous dietary supplement/nutrition industry or FDA experience is preferred, but not required. The position will be a senior director or vice president level, depending on experience.

This individual will work with CRN’s member company scientists and the association’s science department, including: Duffy MacKay, N.D., vice president, scientific and regulatory affairs; Jim Griffiths, Ph.D., vice president, scientific and international affairs; and Haiuyen Nguyen, associate director, scientific and regulatory affairs. The individual will also collaborate with Rend Al-Mondhiry, Esq., regulatory counsel; and Annette Dickinson, Ph.D. and John Hathcock, Ph.D., CRN scientific consultants. The position will report to Dr. MacKay.
