Washington, D.C., May 13, 2014—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and VIRGO Publishing today announced an industry-wide webinar focusing on challenges companies are facing in the current climate of transitioning regulations. The webinar, entitled, “Avoiding Regulatory Pitfalls: GRAS, NDIs and Border Detention,” will feature legal and regulatory experts presenting on three current issues that haven't been widely discussed, but have been affecting companies in the dietary supplement industry: 1) red flags raised about the Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) self-affirmation process; 2) what triggers the need for a New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) Notification; and 3) why so many incoming ingredients are getting detained at the border. The webinar will take place on June 11, from 2–4 pm EDT.
